Hello! Welcome to Catching Our Dreams!
My name is Megan. I am a 36-year-old wife and a proud mom to six beautiful kids ranging in age from 17 down to 2 years old. I eat clean and workout to get fit and healthy (losing this baby weight I’ve been hanging onto for almost two years is a nice plus as well!). I love to knit and crochet and am quite obsessed with yarn in all colors and fibers — My husband refuses to go into Hobby Lobby with me because I always immediately venture toward the yarn aisles! I think there’s only been a couple of times I’ve actually gone into Hobby Lobby and left *without* buying yarn LOL.
Catching Our Dreams has become my biggest passion. The idea behind it has come from my personal experiences, my struggles, and my journey through life as well as my journey through self-discovery. You will learn quite a bit about me throughout reading my blog posts. I’ve been through many difficult times, hardships, bad luck, unwise choices, anxiety and depression, and so much more. I’ve also been through many, many good times. However, I have always focused on the negative. Always. Even when I was in the moments of good, I’d still be focusing on the bad, on the what-ifs, always thinking negatively. The glass was always half-empty in my eyes. Half empty with a crack in the bottom. It took a very traumatic event that happened not that long ago, an event that had a domino effect in my life, for me to finally start to see things on the flip-side.
I began my journey of self-discovery through therapy. After the traumatic event I went through, my anxiety and depression skyrocketed to the point where I had multiple panic attacks every week, and I was ready to give up on everything and everyone in my life. I went to therapy, and over the course of six months, I learned how to cope, and I learned about the importance of self-care. I learned how to push aside the negative to make room for the positive. I’ve learned how to overcome my fears and stop letting them hold me back. I’ve learned that dreams can come true, and I’ve learned how to make them come true.
The first step to making your dreams come true is to stop chasing them! You need to reach out and catch them! Once you do that, your life will change for the better.
My goal with this blog is to help get other people to the point that I’ve reached, and beyond! I know there are many people out there who have been in similar situations like mine, and many people who have been in much worse situations, so I know there are people who can relate to the things I will be talking about on this blog. I want to help them and inspire them to overcome whatever it is they’re struggling with and make a change in their life for the better, especially when it comes to having a goal or a dream that they want to make happen but don’t think it’s possible. It is possible. You just have to have the right way of thinking and the motivation, the determination, and the inspiration to make it happen. Anyone can chase a dream, but it takes someone with a certain kind of mindset to actually catch those dreams and turn them into reality. I hope to inspire others to catch their dreams and change their lives.
I will talk about anything and everything on this blog. There will be topics about parenting and kids, hobbies/crafts, health, fitness and nutrition, mental health awareness, the importance of self-care, starting and running a successful business and so much more! It’ll never get boring around here, that’s for sure!
I do hope you’ll stick around and browse through my blog for topics that may be of interest to you. If you have any questions or just want to talk privately, leave me a comment or contact me directly, and I’ll be happy to help you in any way I can!
