This couldn’t be more true. In order to start making my dreams come true I had to step out of my comfort zone and put myself out there. I had to be willing to experience new things. I had to overcome my fears. I had to stop being afraid of the unknown. For years I stayed in my own little bubble, surrounded by the things and the people I knew, never breaking free of that to see what else life had to offer me. And things never changed, never got better, and I played the “why me?” card way too often.
I went through some traumatic stuff in the first half of 2016 that really hit me hard. I was a horrible mess mentally all of last year because of what happened combined with everything else that had happened in past years. I was literally ready to call it quits on life. I was diagnosed with depression and severe anxiety with panic attacks and I ended up in therapy. I was at rock bottom. BUT it took all of that happening for me to realize that it wasn’t life that was to blame for all that had happened. It was ME. I was to blame because the power to change my life was in MY hands, and I had sat around for YEARS doing the same things over and over again just waiting and hoping for a different outcome that never came.
Everyone has life struggles. Everyone has a million different things they’re dealing with on a daily basis. Everyone has excuses as to why they’re not living their life the way they REALLY want to be living it – Not enough money, not enough time, not the right circumstances, I’m too busy, I’m too tired, etc., etc., etc.
Listen guys, you can make all the excuses you want. You can continue living your life the same way you’ve been living it up to this point and you can keep playing the “why me?” card too. I get it. I’ve been there, done that, but if you’re really tired of living your life the way you’ve been living it, if you really want to follow your dreams, if you really want to make a change, you have to just DO IT!
My point from all of this is, if you want your life to change, YOU need to change it! No one else is going to change it for you. Take action, jump as far as you can outside of that comfort zone, and do the things you’ve always been too afraid to do. Don’t just chase your dreams, CATCH them and make them a reality!
